Zines

All my zines are risography printed with rice oil based inks that produce a very unique texture. This printing process uses the basic principle of ink transfer through a stencil for each color. As the paper is fed through the machine repeatedly for each colour, a certain degree of misregistration is to be expected.Each print is unique.

Hola! My name is Violeta, but sometimes, I also sign as Viu. I’m a graphic designer turned illustrator and a music enthusiast.For the past ten years I've worked creating pictures for picture books, middle grade books, book covers, educational books, magazines and I also have fun in the animation industry as a visual development artist.My work is inspired by the shapes, textures and warmth of mid-century illustrations, comics and cartoons. My characters are full of movement and my favourite subjects to draw are grumpy people, nature, witches, music and animals.In my spare time I like to self-publish comic zines and work in personal projects. If I’m not drawing, you’ll find me listening to music, chilling on a sunny day or researching mid-century art for my next letter from The Attic, my newsletter about inspiring things, illustration and vintage treasures.My native language is Catalan, but I also speak Spanish, English and a little bit of German (B1 level).
